For the common good
Good World Citizen is a non-profit organisation based in the beautiful city of Florence, Italy, with a global mandate. It was founded in April 2021 by a group of global citizens. The name of the organisation is inspired by the words of Professor Abdulaziz Al-Saqqaf (1951–1999), a Yemeni economics professor and journalist who fought throughout his life for human rights and freedom of expression in an increasingly international and globalised world. GWC’s aim is to bring people together and foster cooperation to achieve a better world, one good idea at a time.
At Good World Citizen we envision “a world where people of all nationalities, ethnicities, cultures, genders and backgrounds have equal opportunities and responsibilities to work together for the good of our global community”. To achieve this goal, our mission is “to inspire and contribute to positive change in attitudes and behaviours through intercultural awareness, promotion and development of projects aimed at improving the life of our global community in a sustainable environment, one person and one project at a time”.
