Grow Initiative
What is it
GROW is a project conceived by Good World Citizen in collabouration with the Giorgio La Pira International Student Center and, in its second edition, with Europe Direct. This project aims to provide essential information that can be a useful tool for understanding certain aspects of labour, including local regulations and services.
Work is essential for personal fulfillment and for the development of society. Most people who migrate do so for work related reasons, so it is very important to understand the laws and dynamics of the host country. This makes it easier to enter the labour market of and understand the related regulations.

Objectives
The overall goal is to facilitate the employment and social integration of participants. This project targets young immigrants from various countries, primarily non-EU (Egypt, Morocco, Albania, Cameroon, Colombia, etc.) who are in Italy for study and/or work.
Program
The project consists of four workshops led by experts. These in-depth meetings focus on labour and aim to engage participants in a discussion of Italian work culture and the various labour-related regulations.
First workshop – Labour law: understanding rights and responsibilities
Knowing labour laws and the documents required to work in Italy is essential for successfully entering the labour market. This workshop provides a clear overview of labour law, helping participants understand how to work legally and their rights and responsibilities. The meeting will explore topics such as the employment contract, the information it contains, the different types of contracts, and the pay slip, with particular attention to its structure and its main components.
Second workshop – Health and work: safety and well-being
Since people spend a large portion of their time in the workplace, it is essential to ensure adequate safety, protection, and prevention conditions, both by employers and employees. Numerous scientific studies demonstrate that prevention and health promotion contribute to reducing the incidence of disease, improving well-being and quality of life. This workshop addresses workplace safety legislation, procedures to follow in the event of illness, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle.
Third workshop – Useful tools for the job search
Finding a job is not always easy, especially for those unfamiliar with the Italian context. Therefore, it is important to develop an effective job search method using the right tools. This workshop focuses on career guidance and provides practical guidance on how to write a resume, where to search for job offers, and which channels to use. Helpful services, such as employment centers and professional training opportunities, are also presented.
Fourth workshop – Work experiences and testimonials
This workshop presents the professional paths of foreigners who have had positive work experiences. Through the comparison of different stories and cultures, the workshop offers a concrete look at the job market, highlighting existing opportunities and potential career paths. The goal is to encourage sharing, inspiration, and increased awareness of employment opportunities.
